every designer has a design philosophy. what's yours?

for  4 years of attending interior design course at a university, i never knew what design philosophy is, so i dont have any, until  i took the licensure examination for interior design in our country.

by then, i realized how important design philosophy is to a designer. it gives the designer a distinct design style and character, as well as a trademark for his/her works.

iNTERIOR DESIGN IS BOTH FUNCTIONAL AND VISUAL ART

functional art applies to those art whose medium itself is directly practical and useful, simply made primarily for its function. architecture, pottery, weapons, ceramics and textiles to name a few isdirectly and almost entirely functional, which is built for its special use. the beauty of functional art is more appreciated for its performance, which is to suffice a person's neccesity to life.

visual art is known to beinderectly functional or the least. literature, paintings, photography andsculpture are forms of art made to express an artist's emotions, desires, and intentions.

Interior design is a functional art, that aims the full comfortabilityand satisfaction of the client's needs within his/her space, but in contrary to to louis sullivan's philosophy of form ever follows function,

my philosophy touches not only the the functionality of a design but also its aesthetics and visual perception, through the influence of different visual artforms.

few designers i know loved  the philosophy of green and sustainable designs.

another one i know has a philosophy that every design should touch the five senses of a person. what's yours? =)
